Felipe Antonio Custer is Chairman and CEO of Corporacion Custer S.A. which has investments in the following sectors: production and distribution of foodstuffs, consumer products, specialty and agricultural chemicals. He is the President of Voxiva Peru, an innovative “social enterprise for profit” worldwide telecom company based in Washington D.C. that connects the world’s non-internet population to government, health, and education services.
In 1996, Mr. Custer founded Fundacion Felipe Antonio Custer. The Foundation created the “Aprendamos Juntos” program in 1998 and has 12 centers in schools in the lowest income areas of Lima. Educational therapists employed by the Foundation give individual remedial courses to children with learning disabilities. 800 children were enrolled in the Program in 2007. The Foundation also assures the annual presence of young Peruvian musicians in the Youth Orchestra of the Americas. Mr. Custer is author of “The Art of Peruvian Cuisine”, with 72,000 books in print Peru’s to-selling cookbook, and the series of three children’s books “El Osezno Febezno, un Osito valiente y cortes”, El Osezno Febezno en Konkilandia and El Osezno Febezno y el Flotamo”. All the income from the sale of the books supports the Foundation.
Mr. Custer is director of Youth Orchestra of the Americas in Washington D.C. and of the Harvard Business School “Global Initiative”. He is an advisory board member of the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard University, which is sponsoring over 300 faculty and student internships to South America in 2007.
He holds a BA (cum laude) from Harvard College and a MBA from Harvard Business School. Mr. Custer is fluent in English, Spanish and French, with a working knowledge of Italian. He is married to fashion designer Ana Maria Guiulfo and has 5 children.
