Michael F. Brewer

Mr. Michael F. Brewer is President and a member of the Board of Directors of Drug Innovation and Design, Inc., a Massachusetts start-up company specializing in innovative cancer drug technologies based on a new scientific model of the disease.  He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.  In addition to service on the Youth Orchestra of the America’s Board, Mr. Brewer has been a member of the Board of Directors of the National Symphony Orchestra since 1994; he served as Chairman from 1998-2002, as President from 2002-2007, and as Chairman of the National Trustees of the NSO from 2001-2006.  Mr. Brewer was elected at the end of 2002 to the Board of the Joyce Foundation in Chicago.  He has also served as a member of the Recombinant DNA Advisory Committee and Human Gene Therapy Subcommittee at the National Institutes of Health.  He is married to Janet H. Brown, who is Executive Director of the Commission on Presidential Debates, and they reside in Washington, DC.
