Biography
Mr. Hernandez began his musical studies at age 13.
Founding member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of El Salvador (1995), and its Concertmaster from 1996 to 1997. Member of the Iberoamerican Youth Symphony Orchestra (Caracas, Venezuela 1997).
Student at the Violin Class of Professor Eddie Mora at the School of Musical Arts of the University of Costa Rica (1998). Concertmaster of the University’s orchestra that same year.
Member of the Symphony Orchestra of El Salvador (2001 to date). Member of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas (2003-2004). Concertmaster at the Orquesta de la Asociacion Lirica Salvadorena (2002 to date).
In 2005, debuted as soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of El Salvador, and has performed as such in its 2006 and 2007 Concert Seasons and will perform again in June 2008. Also in 2005, performs a violin recital in Washington D.C. with salvadoran pianist, Maria Letona. In 2006 participated on a chamber music recital at the Music Festival “La Mozartiada” for the Foro Contrapunto de El Salvador.
Mr. Hernandez has participated in masterclasses with violinists such as Narciso Figueroa (Puerto Rico), Rafael Gintoli (Argentina), Guido Calvo (Costa Rica), Luis Haza (National Symphony Orchestra, USA), Miguel Borrego (Concertmaster of the Orquesta de la Radio y Television Espanola), Vinh Pham (Concertmaster of the Sinfonieta de Paris and violinist at L’Orchestre de Paris), Arnaud Sussmann (assistant to Itzakh Perlman), Jorge Saade (Ecuador) and others.
As an orchestra player he has worked under the baton of renowned conductors such as Leo Najar, Gerald Brown, Joseph Kesner, Edmon Colomer, Daniel Boico, David Handel, Carlos Miguel Prieto, Gustavo Dudamel, Benjamin Zander, Dominique Fanal, Manuel de Elias, Roman Revueltas and others.
In 2007 Mr. Hernandez graduated with honors from the School of Law at the Universidad Centroamericana 'Jose Simeon Canas' (UCA).
