Biography
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Ithaca College; Graduate studies with Emory Remington at the Eastman School of Music.
Performance Experience:
Principal Trombone with the Syracuse Symphony from 1964-1970; Associate Principal Trombone with The Cleveland Orchestra 1970-1989; Principal Trombone with The Cleveland Orchestra 1989-2003. He has performed under the direction of Leopold Stokowksy, Erich Leinsdorf, Daniel Barenboim, Raphael Kubelik, George Solti, Riccardo Chailly, Claudio Abbaddio, Lorin Maazel, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Pierre Boulez, John Cage, Lukas Foss, Bernard Rands, Luciano Berio, and many other distinguished conductors. Recitals throughout the United States; Soloist with The Cleveland Orchestra; Performances with Summit Brass and The Grand Teton Seminar; Masterclasses in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Professional Affiliations:
Prior to Mr. Desano's appointment as Trombone Instructor of the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, he was on faculty of Syracuse University, Akron University, Kent State University and The Cleveland Institute of Music.
