Biography
Flavio Gabriel was born in 1980 in Mauá, Brazil. He began his music studies in 1992 and graduated from Rio de Janeiro Federal University (UNIRIO). In 2003, he won second prize in the First National Competition for trumpet solo, held in Salvador, Brazil. His Performance of Leopold Mozart's trumpet concerto at the National Conservatory in Paris was hailed "impeccable" by Gary Monterson, board member of the International Trumpet Guild (ITG). Flávio has participated in Youth Orchestra of the Americas since 2005 and played with many major orchestras, including Brazilian Symphony Orchestra (OSB) Petrobrás Symphony Orchestra and Simon Bolivar Orchestra in Venezuela. Since 2004 he has been principal trumpet player of Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra, Brazil.
