As a violinist remarkable international participations at the Summer Curses at Santander, Spain; FOSJA, Puerto Rico; Founder member of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas and of the Latin-American Youth Orchestra. Founder Violinist of the “Trio Dominicano”, for which he has transcribed many pieces of Dominican classical music.

Winner of the Academic Composition Prize of the IV Music Festival of Santo Domingo, conducted by Philippe Entremont. Awarded with two Composition National Music Prices in both Chamber and Symphonic Music. Commissioned composer for the VI Musical Festival of Santo Domingo, to write a full orchestra work for the closing concert. Aquino is the first “Composer in Residence” of the Dominican National Symphony Orchestra and guest composer of the Latin-American Music Festival in Venezuela.

Artistic Director of the National System of Youth Orchestras from the Ministry of Culture in his country. Under his baton, the National Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Dominican Republic realized two international concerts tours in Germany and New York, highly acclaimed by the press.

Recent prizes for his artistic labor include: “Musici Mojanesi” Composition Prize in Italy, “Jaycees 72” as Outstanding Youth, “Cultural Personalities” and “Men of the year in Dominican Republic”.
